In short:
1.) d/l the raid patches and raid tools from
ftp.*.kernel.org/pub/linux/daemons/raid/ (I think)
2.) Read the howto contained therein.
3.) Compile & install the raidtools, patch and compile the kernel with
raid support (under 'block devices').
4.) write an /etc/raidtab (man 5 raidtab and examples in the
raidtools-distibution)
