I am using SuSE 6.1 with kernel 2.2.5 .
When I do a nslookup, I get the following msg:
[ kdetest@dr ~ ]# nslookup www.yahoo.com
*** Can't find server name for address 209.13.62.221: Non-existent
host/domain
*** Can't find server name for address 209.13.62.222: Non-existent
host/domain
*** Default servers are not available
I should understand that these resolvers do not exist, but if so: why
can I navigate with netscape/lynx?
I am working on a single machine, NOT in a LAN, with a transient
connection to Internet through a ISP with dynamic IP allocation.
I can telnet localhost to default port and to port 110, so I guess my
loopback device is properly setup.
Something similar is happening at my work machine with FreeBSD 3.2! So I
think I maybe missing something in my "loopback" net.
These seem to be proper nameservers since the command:
C:\> winipcfg
under M$Win tells me these are my resolvers.
Any hint?
TIA.
