I'd like to thank everyone for their help with my hardware questions. That
information and the info from the RH6.0 install manual helped a lot. (This
thing reminds me of the old DOS 5.0 manual that I still use from time to
time. I really wish more software made them like this these days.)
I do have a few more questions.
I use MSN for internet access and for NewsGroups. I also have a cheap local
ISP that I use for the other computers in the house. Now I'm pretty sure
there is no way I'll be able to connect to MSN when using Linux, so I'll set
it up to connect to the ISP. The problem is there is a reason the local ISP
is so cheap. Their SMTP server is down half the time and they have a very
small amount of newsgroups. Odly enough their POP server can take tons of
mail without ever going down on me. This, my old win 3.1 computer and Linux
are the only reasons I am keeping them until Bell Atlantic gives us DSL.
I've never been able to get Netscape to access netnews.msn.com (MSN's news
server), so I'm assuming that the Linux version of Netscape will not have
Secure Password Authentication (SPA) either. Are there any news readers for
linux that support SPA?
