Did you try "man bash" or man <command>. The man pages for the shells
are very, very long, but the ones for the individual commands can be
very helpful online docs, eg. "man while" or "man read".
I can't remember the the name, but O'Reilly has published a book (or
two) on bash programming, so you can also try searching your favorite
bookstore.
