I am running Peanut Linux v2.0 very successfully with one
exception. I cannot get X Window to work with more than 8 bit
color depth. I am using a Cirrus Logic 5430 video card with 1 Mb
RAM, SVGA X server, and the KDE desktop. I setup each mode to use
640x480 resolution so I can see with my poor eyesight. I start X
with the command: startx -bpp 24.

X starts up and runs normally but the KDE information panel says
that the color depths are 1,8.

I know that the colors are screwed up because Netscape displays
colors that are definitely wrong!

I tried configuring the system with XF86Setup but when I try to
startx, it bombs back to the command line saying that no valid
modes were found. When configured with xf86config, X runs but
at 8 bit color depth.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Larry Irwin
