With dual booting and adding a new account under my belt, I have
taken on configuring PPP. It appears to me that I missed something
during the install and do not have the software needed for PPP or
TCP/IP (there's no mention of them when I...

I'm WAY new, so please try to give me the EASY method of installing
what I need.
And... Sometimes when I try to log out of X (Gnome) I hang. There
is activity (brief) at the hard drive but no apparent response.
Ctrl+Alt+Del won't cause a reboot but the reset button will. Of
course the "...check forced..." thing happens at reboot.
What might need fixing here?
