If this last statement is really true, no, you can't do it. Samba derives it's
name from SMB (aka NetBIOS), the protocol that Windows uses to do network
stuff (WINS, shares, etc).
However, no offense, but your statement may not be true. What do you mean
"the only connection...is TCP/IP"? Is there a firewall between work and home?
NetBIOS is not like IP or IPX, it's a higher level protocol, meaning it rides
on top of TCP/IP (or something else). Most firewalls block it out, though.
Also, why does it need to be a Samba share? Even if you are running Windows
at work you could just use FTP or something to copy files back and forth.
