Hello all.....
I'm having a heck of a time getting my new Voodoo3 card to
run properly in Linux. I've just installed Mandrake 6.1 (Xf86 3.3.5).
I'm using the standard Red Hat installer, and attempting to run in
16bbs,
at 800 x 600. Xserver crashes at start, citing something like
"800x600 does not exist". Then when I try to config using
xf86config, I can get X running, but the "sides" of my display
are "bending" toward the center of the screen...
When setting up the card, I'm using the "Voodoo3 Generic"
card from the list, as that is all that is avail.
I sure hope someone out there has gone down this road, and may
have some wisdom to share. I bought this card just so I could run linux

on my new computer (the card that came with it is not yet supported).

Thanks In Advance (and thanks for all the good help for us newbies)
Bill
