I just installed Apache 1.3.9 on a fresh RedHat 6.0 (i386).

When running
./configure --prefix=/main/programs/apache
I will get the message that the C compiler is not ANSI compatible.
Tracking the lines in ./src/Configure it calls the
./src/helpers/TestCompile and checks the exit value.
So, to proceed I removed that check from ./src/Configure, and during
make
I get 'undefined reference to "crypt"' during linking.

Doing a
gcc --version
gets "egcs-2.91.66"

Anybody have any clue??
