IP Masquerading is the method used by Linux for Network Address Translation
or NAT, in which one firewall-type host "shares" its single "real" IP
address with other machines on a LAN. The LAN hosts run with IP addresses
from one of the "non-routable" ranges, such as 10.x.x.x or 192.168.x.x . For
more information, read the IP Masquerading HowTO, available in the usual
places (e.g., Linux Documenation Project and in /usr/doc on most
full-strength distributions).
