POP3 setup

Hi to all !
        I was trying to setup POP3 mail access ...
I removed the # sign in /etc/inetd.conf before the POP3 line ...
but now , when i try to check mail from my windows machine (through dial up
connection ) and outlokk,
it justs waits at the authorising message ....

previously, i used to do this same thing and everything used to work fine !!
