I plugged also 2 speakers straight into the "out" of my sound card but
it works very well.
It works only if the impedance of the speakers is 4...8 Ohms (it is
written on the back of the speaker).
My card has two outputs: one is a line-out and the other is the output
for speakers. Maybe you put your speakers in the wrong "hole". Or maybe
your card has only output for speakers with amplifier.
Using KDE as desktop I have another problem. Some wav files are making a
sound of a terrible quality(those with longer tunes) and others of a
very good quality. My sound card is compatible SounblasterPro and I have
the modules sb and opl3.
I don't have this problem in windows. Any suggestions ?
