I think the best thing you can do is take alook around the following
sites, they hold much information on just about all cards available,
one of the most popular card seems to be the Brooktree Bt878 
one of which works well here along with kernel 2.2.13 and bttv-0.6.4
the bttv tools holds a file called CARDS which shows all supported
cards.
