.bz2 is a compression format, like gzip, but requiring a different app to
uncompress. You need the application bzip2 -- possibly included with your
distribution, but often not installed by default. If you can't get a version
specific to your distribution, try the one in the directory

        ftp://metalab.unc.edu/pub/Linux/utils/compress/
