I will give the examples for the super user, (root) that way there should
be no misunderstandings about a user not being able to create directorys or
mount disks.

That is a paragraph of its own, if we are talking M$ flops here then the
command 'mdir' will show the contents of the floppy.
To mount the drive;
mount -tmsdos /dev/fd0 /mnt
-t = filesystem type /dev/fd0 is Drive A: /mnt is the mountpoint, you
should have a /mnt directory by default.
> Create Directories on the Hard Drive
mkdir /pipo creates a directory under /
mkdir /home/flippo/pipo makes the dir, under /home/flippo
a small note here when making directorys as root, you will need to change
the permissions on created directorys in some curcumstancies if a regular
user needs to read and write in that directory created by root.
> Move files from the Floppy Drive to the Hard Drive
cp /mnt/filename /pipo
cp /mnt/filename /home/flippo/pipo

Not at all, (snikker), but i suggest you read or try to read some manual
pages for the commands.
man <command>
man cp
man mount
man mkdir
man chmod
man chown
I just came back from hell, i have had my second hernia operation.
