Now I've done it. My system is a P100 w/ 64M ram running Caldera OL 2.3
When I boot, the initial login prompt comes up. When I enter a username
and password, the dialog box disappears, and the system just hangs. This
started when
loging into some accounts, but I could still log in as root. Now I can't
get in even as root.
I can enter failsafe mode, and then type kde. This gets me into the GUI,
and it seems to work all right from there on.
Some of the things that I've recently done to the system are:
Change the hostname
install an ethernet card. (Causing and irq conflict with ttyS1... still
haven't figured out how to get both at once.)
remove the unused aic7xxx module. (The problem actually started before I
did this but spread to root upon reboot after doing this. Probably
coincidence, but I
thought I'd include it)
Any ideas?
