I have successfully installed a Princeton Graphics DPP500 flat panel on
a friend's box. All I did to make it work is documented at
http://marc.mutz.com/X/. You need a patched X server and it only works
with 1024x768 pixels and a ATI LT Pro chipset. This not such a bad
imitation, though, as most 15" DFP panels already come with such a card.
However, Matrox and ALI have released new versions of their resp.
chipsets and I'm quite sure it will not work for them. Maybe you have to
wait for XFree4.0 or look at snapshots of it. There is a good chance the
DFP/P&D ports will be supported, because both companies (esp. ATI)
commited themselves to support Linux.
