It was a simple question, I though I could of give a simple answer, I
screwed up, I shouldn't of tried to help.

sorry, sometimes I make mistakes.
I wasn't trying to write to be all, script, I was trying to make a point,
use a while loop with a sleep
loop forever
ping
sleep
return
It was half sloppy code, half pesudo code, it wasn't meant to be a
productive script, it was meant to give him a general idea of what could be
done... it was for the user to take out, add error control, robustness and
feartures, I didn't say it was a script that you could put on your
productive server right this second...it was so he could get general feel of
what needed to be done, and fine tune to his system / distro
