Hi all
I've still not got it working.. But I'm pretty sure now what to do. I
spent about an hour digging around on Linksys' webb site.
What I found out is
#1 the Ether16 lan Card (isa) is a Ne2000 card
#2 it is also a PnP card
#3 under Linux you have to turn off the PnP before it will work
#4 To turn it off you have to do it in Dos
So I've d/l the Dos program and will install it in the morning. Then I'll
see if it'll work. THEN I'll go on to the next problem!
Thanks to everyone for helping, expecially Ray, Grey, and Richard!
One last thought... about why I like Linux over W$, when I get thru
connecting these two computers, I will know and understand networking plus
how to get older card/systems to work. With W$ all I'd do is put two cards
in and jump back, nothing learned. Using Linux is an education!
