you need to have an entry for etc drive in /etc/fstab, with options set
to default for all but the cdrom e.g. fstab
#device mountpoint filesys options
/dev/hda1 /dos1 vfat default
2 0
/dev/cdrom /cdrom iso9660 auto,ro 0 0
The first entry will automount hda1 on mountpoint /dos1 (which is an
empty directory that needs to exist before you try to mount it). I am
assuming your dos partition is vfat (if not, choose what you normally use
for mounting). The second line handles the cdrom. The auto will try to
mount it at boot time if there is a cd in it. The system will be mounted
as readonly (ro).
