You are not being very helpfull, if you mean you cant ping an IP with an IP
number then you have many more problems that you think.
It would seem that you dont have a defult route set VIA your isp, now if
you have a PPP connection the default route should be set when you connect.
Check with the route command, and/or route -ne.
