You have to install a X font server that is capable of TrueType. xfstt
is one, and one is integrated with XFree 3.9.x (although the latter is
beta sw). If you know German, you can look for a detailed article about
that on www.heise.de/ct/ (not sure, if it's there, not all their
articles are put onto the web). Maybe someone else on this list knows a
good reference?
