Well, minicom opens up and after the msg "Intialising Modem" I am left
with a screen. On typing AT (<enter>) nothing happens. Is that how I send
an AT string to the modem? When I try reinitialise the modem I see the SD
(Send Data) light on the modem flicker as when resetting the modem. So

to the modem yet. Will that be a problem?
Tried running wvdialconf again and got a response saying -- no modem
detected.

The label behind says (c) 1995. Is that "old" in relation to trying 3?
Well I do think that it old in any case as I have switches on the side of
the modem that control DTR, Carrier detect etc.
