Then that is what i call, not configuring something properly,  or a
mouse with some sort of disablity, as what you describe works here, i
can cut can paste text from one app to another and i can cut text
from any window page or file and place it in the location bar of kfm.

I have a simple serial mouse make = primax which has a switch for
MicroSoft or MouseSystems on it.
On another machine i have a ps2 mouse which works in the same maner
as the serial mouse.

Now you will have to dig deeper to find your problem, as cut and
paste support is more than you are getting, so i stand by my
explanation and say again, cut and paste is NOT poorly supported.
