Why compare windows to linux, there is NO comparistion. Linux by
nature does not need programs like that.

Each user has his/her own account on a machine, he/she the user needs
to configure his/her account be it programs like netscape or a mail
program and configure his/her own profile.

Fetchmail or pop will handle mail for all your user accounts.
Now if mail is sent directly to your machine you can determine who
gets mail via the /etc/aliases file.

man aliases
man newaliases
man fetchmail
