Hello list I know this may seem a bit off topic, but I have a compiler error with a Java program I'm trying to build and I think my inability to debug this error is due to my ignorance of the Linux file system. So I'm hoping one of you can help. The error reads as follows: check sourcepath; source /usr/local/SavitchJava/ch01/SavitchIn.java cannot be found on sourcepath by appending /SavitchIn.java to each sourcepath entry What does this mean? I thought it meant that the directory containing the SavitchIn.java file was not on my current path, so I used the export command to add it to my path. This did not help. Probably because it was the totally wrong thing to do. I have just installed JBuilder 3 on my Red Hat 6.1 system and this is the first file I've tried to compile. I haven't downloaded the help files because they were about 28 MB in size and this would take an eternity over my phone line. I tried accessing the www.inprise.com site but it looks like their server is down again. Can anyone help me? Please accept my apologies if this is a really stupid question or not a direct linux-newbie issue.
