Yes, while I was running Slackware 3.6 there was a lot of new rpms that came
out that rpm2tgz couldn't convert properly. I'ld say less than 25% were a
problem.

Even with rpms under RH6.0 sorting out dependencies can be a pain too.
Sometimes I have the right libraries installed, and it says It can't find
them, yet installing with nodep switch it the apps seem to run OK. If it
couldn't find it during installation how come it finds it when it runs? Go
figure. Red Hat ain't got it completely right either. 

But hey, Linux is a hackers OS, and we wouldn't be using it if we didn't like
to tinker and push the envelope.
