The smbclient utility is in the samba-client package. I don't know if
you have this installed. There is also samba and samba-common, but I believe
you need samba-client. It may be on yer CD, but if not, it's available at
ftp://ftp.linux-mandrake.com/pub/mirror/mandrakE/current/Mandrake/RPMS/samba-client-2.0.6-1mdk.i586.rpm
So no, you shouldn't need to recompile.. just remeber to capatailize the E at the end
of the first mandrake in the url I wrote above..
