You will want to have lots of memory and a pretty fast computer to use VMware. I use it all the time with NT under Linux at work. I use 98 under linux at home. I would recommend a minimum of 128 Meg RAM and 400 + MHz processor. The VMware 2.0 is suppose to be faster than 1.0 (what I am currently using) and is has more capability. I would e-mail VMware to make shure your apps will work fine (DirectX, etc.) "Solarius" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > --------------------------------------------- > Attachment: > MIME Type: multipart/alternative > --------------------------------------------- > Does anyone use Linux in combo with VMWare to run Windows 98? I love Linux for the stability and the web hosting, but I'm also an avid game player, and there aren't many games for Linux that I play. I hate having to shut down my Linux so I can swap the hard drive, instead I'd like to leave Linux up and running and be able to run another instance of Windows 98 to play my games. Has anyone done this? And if so, what type of performance hit does it take? I'm running a Celeron 366 w/ 128m ram. > > Shane -- R.
