Ok. I get it! Is it possible to ask linux to "autoprobe" for a
filesystem? I do not know the specifications to answer your questions
exactly, but I think the IDE Zip is as Secondary slave. Heres the output
from my dmesg:

hdd: IOMEGA ZIP 100 ATAPI, ATAPI FLOPPY drive
---------------
Is something wrong with it being that way?
