"debug" (as a pppd option; I assume that is what you are asking about)
affects the amount of stuff that will be logged.
How you "get my route table up" depends on what you need to route and where.
If you just mean how do you get your ppp link recognized as the default
gateway, you use the "defaultroute" option in your pppd call (perhaps as a
command-line option in a script; perhaps in /etc/ppp/options; perhaps some
other way -- kind of depends on the details of your setup). If you mean
something else, you'll need to explain yourself a bit better, or just look
at the man page for "route".
