Normally speaking you do not need any "-" (options) fsck should be run without options, if you think back, you possably will remember seeing the text; Please run fsck manually without any options, or something to that effect. Have you tryed; fsck /dev/hdc1 after typing in the root passwd.???? What is the result of that command. ?????
