If this has been answered and I'm being redundant, I apologize. My mail is
coming slowly today.
I have a zip zoom SCSI card on my RH6.0 system (AHA-152x chipset, not sure
which). This is what I do to get my SCSI card to work with my zip drive and
another external hard drive. It's a very ugly way to do things, but I'm the
only one who uses this system so I can afford to be messy.
First off - You can't do much without knowing your irq and IO address.
That's all I needed to get it working.
After figuring that out I typed the following command:
modprobe aha152x aha152x=0x140,9 (this is what I type)
modprobe aha152x aha152x=[IO ADDRESS],[IRQ] (plug in your values between
the values)
The computer took care of everything else for me. I take my my zip drive
and external hard drive different places so they aren't always connected to
my system - this is why I use the command prompt to get at my SCSI drives.
If this works for you perhaps putting an alias in your .bashrc file (or
whatever shell you use) could help?
Here's an excerpt from my .bashrc file -
alias scsi='modprobe aha152x aha152x=0x140,9'
Hope that helps. If you need more help feel free to reply back.
Good luck!
