The issue here, often, isn't *technically* whether **Linux** itself supports
the device, buthwhether the standard Linux app to do something supports it.
With modems and NICs, the issue actually is Linux kernel support. With
printers, it is the availability of the appropriate filter for the LPR or
LPRng package; with video, it is whether XFree86 supports it.
If you have a more specific question than this, you'll have to ask it
specifically.
