Well, fed up with my serial card problem I decided I'd install XFree86 4.0

Went to the XFree86 web site, followed their directions for finding out
which version to download. Got the files, backed up the directories as they
suggested. Ran the install, chose mostly defaults. Ran xf86config. Ran
startx. X started but the screen is HUGEEEEE! Used the config tool in KDE
and tried to change the resolution and colors but most choices gave me an
error about not finding a font. So evidently the install screwed up at
least 1 font. No idea how I'm gonna recover this.

BTW, Ray & Lawson, I'll get around to answering your last emails about my
serial card problem.....Just haven't had the time lately. Also got myself
subbed to the serial list but not yet sent out a distress call there either.

Sla/n go Fo/ill,

Jim
