Since the fixes worked, you really didn't need to send us the ifconfig and
route info. As to secrecy ... mail messages include, in the form of
Received: headers, information about where they came from. Your Received:
headers begin with this one:

Received: from home.com ([24.68.163.37]) by mail1.rdc2.ab.home.com

Don't know if that is your "censored" octet or not.

As to your question ... the easiest way to save output is to redirect it to
a file, by using the command in a form like:

        ifconfig -a >ifconfig.info

The "solution" someone suggested of setting the Linux ghost as the default
gatewey on the Windows host will work after a fashion ... it will let the
two boxes communicate directly, but it will hinder the use of the WIndows
host to connect to anyplace else. Windows does have a "route" command (thet
you can run from an MS-DOS window. But you'll need someone who knows more
about WIndows than I do for the details.
