Don't! I was using SuSE from 4.x to 6.3 and it is definitely enough of
their brain-damaged yast configuration tool and /etc/rc.config stuff. I
found just recently Mandrake 7.0 and loved the way it installed. The
only advantages SuSE _really_ has over any distro is their very well
configured emacs and the good keyboard mapping in X as well as on the
console. But the rest is all very crappy. Stay with Mandrake and update
to 7.1.

PS: Sorry, could not resist. But if you were forced to dump your
installation after every upgrade of your distribution and install from
scratch or just Live With It(tm), then you would understand :-(
