Hi,

I have a few separate questions. I hope you could help me.

1. How can I limit users from being able to browse certain directories such
as /etc? is there a shell that allows the admin to define which directories
users can see?

2. What is the linux equivalent of the following Solaris
performance-monitoring tools:

  a) sar - block device activity, disk buffers, cpu utilization, system
calls, etc.
  b) vmstat - memory stats
  c) iostat - for various IO stats (disk reads, terminal data, etc.)

Thanks so much.

Mary Christie Generalao
