When I start Gnome I am told that Gnome couldn't find my hostname and that I could possibly resolve this by editing the file /etc/lmhosts, which sometime ago I accidentally altered. My questions are: How would I go about resolving this? Is there a standard way to make entries? Also when I run the command ps -A some fields show a question mark in the column that displays what I am assuming is the terminal associated with that process is that normal? and after login to my system a message is displayed about " [ : too many arguements ".
