Why not just reset your bios to "standard"
/dev/ttyS0 = com1
/dev/ttyS1 = com2
I am quite sure you will save yourself a lot of hassel.
If for some reason you wish to keep it as is, please send the output of;
cat /proc/interrupts
cat /proc/ioports
The full line output of ls -al /dev/ttyS 0 1 2 3
output of ps ax | grep gpm
out put of setserial for all comports.
setserial /dev/ttyS0 1 2 3
Full output of dmesg concerning serial ports.
On another note if possable please configure you mailer or mailers editor
not do include so many empty lines.
