[Hiremath, Vaibhav] Kishor, I am also using TWL GPIO's for backlight control 
and DVI enable. And I am doing same thing inside function 
"omap3evm_twl_gpio_setup", which gets called later stage of boot sequence. It 
is working perfectly fine for me.

This API is part of "struct twl4030_gpio_platform_data", which sets up GPIO 
when TWL gets initialized. 

You should be doing this under this function.
