Sorry, wrong answer. It seems your development model is absolutely incompatible with the Linux community. I think you are on your own. If you for whatever reason insist on shipping age old Linux that's fine - but when you want to approach the community you must really understand that the very latest version is the only one receiving developer attention. You would at the very least test your code on a recent kernel, ideally several recent kernels, to provide more data points.
