I don't recall what version it was that was working.

Dell, can you comment on this?

Thanks,

Shaun

Hi Shaun,
Thanks for the answer. Does this mean that a newer or older version of
OpenIPMI will work
fine?
I installed and used IPMI for the first time, so I am not sure whether
an older version of the OpenIPMI
works.

I've noticed the same thing on RHE 5.4 since a recent OpenIPMI update:

OpenIPMI.x86_64 2.0.16-5.el5_4.1 installed

Looks like the 2.0.16-5 update broke things... pretty much everything
around and after the ECC checks starts to return "Not Readable".

Subject: IPMI not showing all the sensor readings

Hello,

I have PowerEdge 610 with Intel Xeon 5520 Processor and CentOS 5.3
installed on it.
I installed OpenIPMI-tools-2.0.16-5.el5.x86_64 and using ipmitool to
monitor the power usage, voltage, temperature of various components by
executing "ipmitool sdr" command.

It lists a bunch of sensors which have their readings as "Not Readable".
E.g.
CPU Temp Interf | Not Readable | ns

1. Can someone please let me know how can I retrieve the value of this.
2. SDR gives a long list of sensors and many are named as Temp. I do not

understand which component's temperature is it displaying.
Is there a manual which explains what each of the sensors signify.
3. Is there a special sensor for reporting Power and temperature of each
CPU?
If yes, which one?
4. What is the resolution and accuracy of these sensors? This is
important to me, as
I am doing some experiments on these machines and need to report various
IPMI
attributes.
