I hate to say it, but "not syncing:CPU context corrupt" is generally a hardware issue.
It's been seen on machines that have been overclocked, machines with power supplies that are starting to get dodgy, or even a bad stick of RAM or CPU. My own experience with this was due to a power supply. Run some hardware diags if at all possible. The errors were CPU4: Machine Check Exception 0000000000000004 CPU5: Machine Check Exception 0000000000000004 Bank0: 00000000135 Bank1: 00000000135 Bank2: 00000000135 Kernel Panic - not syncing : CPU context corrupt The machine was hard locked and I needed to hold down the power button to reboot it. On reboot it checked the drives (uptime had been about 300days +) and after a while everything came up fine. The system is running Debian 4. Everything in Server Administrator is green. No errors logged from that time. Doesn't seem to be anything in /var/logs either. Any suggestions on what *might* be the cause. Im going to run diags when I get a chance. However I don't want to run them while developers are working (they have a scheduled release Friday) in case they manage to knock theCPU off again.
