I wanted to give the problem plenty of time to recur, but it's been a week and still looking good. I used the reset-DRAC-to-default strategy. I note that it seems to be random whether a given PowerEdge will have this problem as shipped by Dell. I have systems with adjacent service tags and identical configs, one of which exhibits it and one of which doesn't.
