The scsi raid controller for the 650 was the PERC4/SC, which I believe is
supported in Centos 5.4.  I've put 5.4 on PERC4/DC based 2850s, at least. 
The CERC IDE controller fell off the bus a while back, but you wouldn't be
migrating drives from that to a scsi card.
