Hi there, I'm trying to figure out the current CPU Fan Status via openipmi on a PowerEdge 2850 and PowerEdge 2950 with Debian Etch installed.
If I request the fan states openipmi returns a bunch of fan infos, but I could not determine which of the fans belong to a processor. Is there a way to locate the fans which belongs to a cpu, eg. by sensor id, or something? Regards, Michael IPMI output from a PowerEdge 2850: ipmitool sdr type "Fan" FAN 1 RPM | 30h | ok | 7.1 | 4875 RPM FAN 2 RPM | 31h | ok | 7.1 | 4950 RPM FAN 3 RPM | 32h | ok | 7.1 | 4950 RPM FAN 4 RPM | 33h | ok | 7.1 | 5100 RPM FAN 5 RPM | 34h | ok | 7.1 | 4725 RPM FAN 6 RPM | 35h | ok | 7.1 | 4575 RPM FAN 1 RPM | 36h | ok | 7.1 | 1800 RPM FAN 2 RPM | 37h | ok | 7.1 | 1800 RPM FAN 3 RPM | 38h | ok | 7.1 | 1800 RPM FAN 4 RPM | 39h | ok | 7.1 | 1800 RPM FAN 5 RPM | 3Ah | ok | 7.1 | 1800 RPM FAN 6 RPM | 3Bh | ok | 7.1 | 1800 RPM FAN 7 RPM | 3Ch | ok | 7.1 | 1800 RPM FAN 8 RPM | 3Dh | ok | 7.1 | 1800 RPM Fan Redundancy | 54h | ok | 7.1 | Fully Redundant -- Sicherer, schneller und einfacher.
