Haven,
I believe that if you buy the non-redundant configurations, you do not get
power monitoring or any form of power supply management. I suggest you look at
the power supplies that you have installed.

Subject: Power Monitoring on R310

Hello,

Recently we acquired some R310 and R410s units. I'd like to be able to monitor
the power consumptions among other things on them. I am running CentOS 5.5, and
have installed OpenManage on them. However, I cannot get any reading on that.
When I ran omreport, I get the following message:

[r...@leopard ~]# omreport chassis
Health

Main System Chassis

SEVERITY : COMPONENT
Ok : Fans
Ok : Intrusion
Ok : Memory
Unknown : Power Management
Ok : Processors
Ok : Temperatures
Ok : Voltages
Ok : Hardware Log
Ok : Batteries

For further help, type the command followed by -?

[r...@leopard ~]# omreport chassis pwrsupplies
Error! No instrumented power supplies found on this system.

It seems that everything but Power Management is working fine. This is the case
for both R310 and R410s. Moreover, the front LCD panel on these units also
cannot display power consumption information.

My questions are:

1. Do the R310 and R410 have power management/monitoring capabilities?
2. If so, how can get a power consumption reading out of this thing?

Thanks,

Haven
