Hello, going through Dell web site to check fw releases for my M610 I find something strange: it seems that latest broadcom fw is 4.6.8, when the previous one is 5.2.7 and all the former ones are 5.x In fact if I download the .BIN file to my rh el 5.5 server and try to install, I get the message:
the version of this update package is oder than the currently installed version ... Package version: 4.6.8 Installed version: 5.0.6 No matetr if I select Windows 2003 or Linux as OS inside Dell web site, it seems that the 4.6.8 version is the proposed one.... As on this server I have both 1Gbit and iSCSI 10Gbit adapters I would like to be sure before downgrade to such an "old" version... Anyone know if it could be an error on Dell site? The map of my network adapters is this: 01:00.0 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme II BCM5709S Gigabit Ethernet (rev 20) 01:00.1 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme II BCM5709S Gigabit Ethernet (rev 20) 03:00.0 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme II BCM5709S Gigabit Ethernet (rev 20) 03:00.1 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme II BCM5709S Gigabit Ethernet (rev 20) 05:00.0 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme II BCM57711 10-Gigabit PCIe 05:00.1 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme II BCM57711 10-Gigabit PCIe Thanks in advance, Gianluca _______________________________________________ Linux-PowerEdge mailing list [email protected] https://lists.us.dell.com/mailman/listinfo/linux-poweredge Please read the FAQ at http://lists.us.dell.com/faq
