Thanks for looking into it. Perhaps the same issue is occurring for
other users, which may assist you in finding something current.
Something to investigate, if possible, is the length of time messages
will remain in queue in the case of a transient failure (such as a
network fault or DNS failure). I can understand that dedicated mailing
list servers don't want to be busied with messages that won't deliver,
but I would think at least 2 delivery attempts would be prudent. With
the default settings of most mail server software, 2 attempts would take
under 15 minutes. This would still be considered very aggressive, as
most mail servers will typically retry a message for several days before
giving up.
